Eusebio Di Francesco is the new coach of Venezia ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 season. The Italian club announced his appointment on Wednesday. This will be Venezia’s return to the top-flight league after a three-year absence when the season kicks off in August.
In a statement on their website, Venezia confirmed the news saying, “We are thrilled to welcome Eusebio Di Francesco as our new coach. He has signed a two-year contract that will keep him with us until the end of the 2025/26 season.”
Di Francesco has previously managed Roma from 2017-19, leading the team to a third-place finish in the league and a semi-final in the Champions League during his first season in charge. His most recent coaching stint was with Frosinone, where he was unable to prevent the team from being relegated from Serie A in 2024.
The 54-year-old Italian will be taking over from Paolo Vanoli, who helped Venezia secure promotion to Serie A by winning the Serie B play-off final last season after finishing third in the table. Vanoli left Venezia in early June to join Serie A side Torino.
