In 2023, the Packers made a significant change to their defensive coordinator position by bringing in Jeff Hafley. Devonte Wyatt, a defensive lineman who saw increased playing time in his second season, is excited about the change and believes it will benefit him personally. In 2022, Wyatt had an impressive 36 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery as a result of his increased role on the team.
Under former coordinator Joe Barry, Wyatt had to read and react rather than focus on attacking. However, with Hafley at the helm, Wyatt is now determined to be more aggressive on the field. He believes that this change will result in a noticeable difference during games and is confident that he can take his game to the next level in the upcoming season. Looking ahead to 2024, Wyatt is optimistic that with the new defensive coordinator and the improvement of young players on the team, the Packers can achieve even greater success. After making it to the divisional round of the playoffs in 2023, the team has high hopes for the upcoming season and aims to go even further in the postseason.
