From Ravens to Chargers: The Exciting Future of Running Back JK Dobbins

J.K. Dobbins Signs One-Year Deal with Chargers After Stint with Ravens

After spending four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, running back JK Dobbins has decided to sign a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers. Confirmed by his agency LAA Sports, this move is expected to take place at SoFi Stadium on the West Coast. Dobbins will be reuniting with his former offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who now holds the same role with the Chargers.

Despite having a promising career, Dobbins’ 2021 season was cut short due to an Achilles injury and a torn ACL, limiting his playtime to just 22 rushing yards and one touchdown in Week 1 before being placed on injured reserve. Throughout his career, Dobbins has accumulated 1,347 yards rushing, 12 rushing touchdowns, 27 receptions for 177 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown.

The Chargers struggled in rushing yards, yards per carry, rushing touchdowns, and rushing first-down percentage last season and ranked among the worst in the league. With the arrival of QB Justin Herbert and new head coach Jim Harbaugh, adding more options to the offense to support Herbert has become a top priority for the team this offseason. The expectation is that Dobbins will make a significant impact on the Chargers’ offensive game plan moving forward.
