From Pursuing Pre-Med to Tech Titan: Neha Moolchandani’s Journey at UAB

Computer Science Graduate Makes a Groundbreaking Impact, Poised for Success in Technology Sector

Neha Moolchandani is a student in the Honors College at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she initially pursued a pre-medical track before realizing her passion for technology. She switched her major to computer science and has since focused on areas such as robotics, machine learning, and AI. To satisfy her love for learning, she also has a concentration in mathematics and information systems from the Collat School of Business.

Throughout her academic journey, Moolchandani has held prestigious internships, including a role as an operations manager at Amazon. In this position, she analyzed data, led projects, developed business strategies, and created applications to improve efficiency and long-term success. Additionally, she has been an active leader on campus, serving as the president of the Society for Women Engineers at the School of Engineering and co-founding the Association for Computing Machinery. She has also worked as a student adviser and teaching assistant in the computer science department and been involved as an Honors Ambassador and a CAS Champion.

As Moolchandani prepares to graduate from UAB this spring, she is being interviewed by major tech companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. She will be starting a full-time position at Amazon in Nashville, Tennessee after graduation where she will continue to pursue her passion for technology while also working as a DJ to complement her academic pursuits.
