India has a rich history of sweets, with traditional desserts being an integral part of festivals and daily diets. Recently, three Indian rice-based sweet dishes gained global recognition as they were ranked among the top 10 rice puddings in the world by Taste Atlas.

Phirni, a beloved North Indian dessert, secured the 4th position on the list. This dish is traditionally served chilled in small clay bowls and garnished with nuts, rose petals, and often adorned with silver paper to enhance its luxury. Kheer, another popular Indian sweet, claimed the 5th spot on the list with its various versions appreciated by food enthusiasts worldwide.

Sakkarai Pongal, a traditional South Indian sweet dish, was ranked 9th.
