In Episode 2 of Season 3 of The Bear, Sydney’s partnership with Carmy in their restaurant is officially confirmed. While it was previously assumed that Sydney would be an official partner, she learns that she needs to sign paperwork to make it official. Sydney is taken aback by this revelation, as she was unsure of Carmy’s intentions last season when developing The Bear alongside Natalie and Uncle Jimmy. Throughout the season, Sydney will continue to try to understand Carmy’s actions and validate her partnership.
One of the standout moments of the season is when Ayo Edebiri, who plays Sydney, steps into the director’s chair in Episode 6. She expressed how moved she was by the script and how touched she was that Chris Storer had her in mind to direct the episode.
