From Oregon to Cannes: The Rise of Sports Bra and Its International Expansion

Portland’s Exclusive Women’s Sports Bar Expands Worldwide with Pop-Up in Southern France

The Sports Bra, a women’s sports bar founded by Jenny Nguyen in Portland, Oregon, is currently experiencing a surge in popularity and expanding internationally. In May, Nguyen was honored as the grand marshal for the Rose Festival’s Starlight Parade. Now, in June, “The Bra” is making its mark internationally with a poolside pop-up event called “The Women’s Sports House” at the Cannes Lions Festival International Festival of Creativity in Cannes, France.

Taking place at a villa’s poolside bar and terrace, the pop-up will feature The Bra’s signature cocktails, women’s sports on the screens, and sports memorabilia. Additionally, a special guest performance by basketball champ and rap superstar Flau’jae Johnson is set to take place at The Bra Cannes.

For those interested in attending this exciting event, flights from Portland to Nice, France are available for around $1,000. Alternatively, individuals can visit The Bra’s international headquarters located at 2512 N.E. Broadway in Portland using a $2.80 Trimet bus ticket to stay updated on life and culture news or for advice from Lizzy Acker at lacker@oregonian.com or follow her on Twitter @lizzzyacker.
