From Jets to Broncos: A Look at the Trade of Quarterback Zach Wilson

Broncos and Jets come to a trade agreement involving Zach Wilson

The Denver Broncos have acquired quarterback Zach Wilson from the New York Jets through a trade, as reported by NFL Media. In exchange for Wilson, the No. 2 pick in the 2021 draft, the Broncos will send a sixth-round pick (No. 203) to the Jets and receive a seventh-round pick (No. 256). Additionally, the Jets will pay a portion of Wilson’s salary, with him set to earn $5.5 million in 2024.

Wilson had been granted permission to seek a trade after being absent from the Jets’ offseason program despite their acquisition of Aaron Rodgers last offseason. Despite not being able to play alongside Rodgers due to injury, Wilson still managed to start 11 games for the team last season and completed 60.1 percent of his passes for 2,271 yards, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

Looking back over the last three seasons, Wilson has played 34 games with 33 starts, completing 57 percent of his passes for 6,293 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 25 interceptions. As he joins the Broncos now, he will be part of a quarterbacks room that includes Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci. With the upcoming draft where the Broncos hold the No.12 overall pick , they may opt to add another quarterback to their roster as well.
