Makenzie Knight is a senior at East Central High School with a passion for sports and storytelling. While most students leave the stadium after a game, Knight stays behind to conduct postgame interviews with her classmates on the baseball team and beyond. She started this initiative back in 2022 and has received a great deal of support from the community, coaches, and athletes.
The postgame interviews have evolved into something more, as Knight now works with local publication 228 Sports to cover other schools, teams, and sports. This expansion has allowed her to step out of her comfort zone and grow in her career. She enjoys making new connections and following the athletic journeys of individuals across the coast.
Makenzie’s ultimate goal is to work with an MLB team and cover the College World Series. In the fall, she plans to attend Mississippi State to pursue a degree in sports broadcasting. She is open to following wherever her career in sports broadcasting may take her, trusting in God’s plan for her future.
