From Family Legacy to Community Impact: Steel Structures Inc. and Dan Riley’s Commitment to Excellence

Madera County business owner receives prestigious recognition

In Madera County, California, there is a manufacturing plant called Steel Structures Inc. that specializes in transforming flat sheets of steel into massive tools that drive the economy. With four buildings on nine acres, the company handles projects of all sizes and even ships some of them to places like Guam, Barbados, and Australia.

In April 2024, Dan Riley, the president of Steel Structures Inc., was recognized by the Small Business Association as the Small Business Person of the Year. As the third generation to run a family-owned business that started in 1952, Riley is committed to continuing his legacy and eventually passing it on to his two sons.

Riley is grateful for his employees who have helped keep the family legacy strong and believes in giving back to the community. He is involved in various service clubs and aims to support and give back to the community through his work as a Rotarian and a veteran. Riley values the idea that a rising tide lifts all ships and hopes to make a positive impact on his community.

Dan Riley’s youngest son has been working with him since he was a young teen and is excited about being part of their growing business. Steel Structures Inc.’s goal is to serve more areas in the future and continue making a positive impact on their community through their innovative products and outstanding customer service.
