From Family Farm to National Recognition: Jennifer Latzke’s Journey in Agricultural Writing

Jennifer M. Latzke, a seasoned agricultural writer with a passion for connecting with farmers and ranchers, has spent her career sharing stories about the challenges and triumphs of the agriculture industry. Growing up on her family’s ranch and farm in Woodbine, Kansas, she developed a deep connection to the land and the agriculture industry. With Rock Springs Ranch State 4-H Center in her backyard, she learned the value of hard work and dedication at a young age.

During her time at Kansas State University, Jennifer was involved in various organizations, including the Sigma Kappa Sorority and the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow. She graduated with a degree in agricultural communications and a minor in animal science, setting the stage for her successful career in agricultural writing. In 2000, she began her journey in Dodge City, Kansas, where she has spent the last 20 years writing about a variety of agricultural topics.

Over the years, Jennifer has traveled extensively across the United States and abroad, sharing stories about wheat, sorghum, corn, cotton, dairy, and beef industries. Her work has been recognized with awards from several industry organizations
