From Deployment to Reunion: The Heartwarming Tale of a Soldier and His Canine Best Friends

Marine reunites with dogs he nursed back to health while deployed overseas

Latte and Biscuit, two dogs rescued by Gunnery Sergeant Craig Wooten while deployed in Georgia, were recently reunited with their hero at the Los Angeles International Airport. During his deployment, Wooten took in the sick dogs and cared for them until they recovered from canine parvovirus. After their successful recovery, Wooten and his wife were able to bring the dogs back home on June 29th. The dogs greeted their new owners joyously and settled into their new surroundings, showing off their healthy and happy demeanors.

The heartwarming reunion of Latte and Biscuit with Gunnery Sergeant Craig Wooten was made possible through the SPCA International’s Patriot Pets Program. This program has helped over 1,200 servicemembers reunite with their beloved pets after deployment. The story of these dogs’ rescue and reunion serves as a reminder of the bond between humans and animals and the compassion that exists across international borders.
