From Cuts to Comeback: The Journey of Undrafted Defensive Lineman Willington Previlon on the Steelers

Steelers acquire DL Willington Previlon off waivers

On Friday, the Pittsburgh Steelers claimed undrafted defensive lineman Willington Previlon off of waivers. Previously cut by the Atlanta Falcons along with offensive lineman Nolan Potter on Thursday, Previlon had a successful college career at Rutgers with 71 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, and three passes defensed.

Despite going undrafted in 2020, Previlon found success with the Green Bay Packers during his rookie season, spending time on their practice squad. However, he was ultimately cut by the Packers during the preseason in 2021. Previlon then signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad before landing on the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad for most of last season.

While he has yet to play in a regular-season NFL game, Previlon’s journey through multiple practice squads has given him valuable experience and a chance to prove himself on the field.
