From Cut to Signing: The Patriots’ New Rookie Receiver Jackson and the Falcons’ Rookie Release T.J. Luther’s Journey

Patriots add rookie WR JaQuae Jackson to roster, release WR T.J. Luther

The Patriots have announced the signing of rookie receiver JaQuae Jackson, who had been cut by the Falcons just a few days ago. In a corresponding move, the team has released first-year receiver T.J. Luther.

Jackson originally signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers on April 30th but was ultimately cut by Atlanta earlier this week. Now, the Patriots are giving him a chance to prove himself in the NFL.

Last season, Jackson played four seasons at California (Pennsylvania) and had a solid performance with 22 receptions for 361 yards and one touchdown in 13 games. On the other hand, Luther entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent signed by the Jets in May 2023 and spent most of his rookie season on New England’s practice squad after being released by the Jets. Before that, he spent three seasons at Wofford before transferring to Gardner-Webb for his final season in 2022.

It will be fascinating to see how Jackson fits into the Patriots offense and whether he can make an impact on the field. For Luther, he will have to find a new opportunity in the NFL after being cut by New England. Both players have potential and it will be exciting to see where their careers lead them in the future.

In conclusion, both players are talented rookies with significant potential, and their careers are worth watching closely as they navigate their next steps in their respective NFL journeys.
