From Cotton Fields to Wine Glasses: A Journey Through Texas’ Bingham Family Vineyards and Farms

Bingham Family Vineyards and Chez Sami Featured in Lubbock Business News

Greetings A-J readers! This week, we delved into a range of topics including the wine industry, fine dining, and business news. One of our standout features was my visit to Bingham Family Vineyards and Bingham Family Farms located just outside of Meadow. The family and staff shared with us the fascinating history of the land, which has undergone transformations from cotton to peanuts to wine production. They recently launched a new wine at H-E-B in honor of Blake Eddie Bingham, with proceeds supporting the Blake Eddie Scholarship for viticulture and enology students at Texas Tech University and Texas A&M. Keep an eye out for an upcoming article exploring the Bingham family’s history and its impact on the Texas wine industry.

In other developments, Chez Sami / Il Dolce Far Niente announced the closure of their Wolfforth location on June 15 while their Lubbock location remains operational. The Rollin’ Cones, an ice cream truck, will be opening a storefront and drive-thru at the former Tom & Bingo’s BBQ location on 34th St. in August or September. Additionally, Twisted Root is offering $7 Classic Burgers on Tuesday as a celebration of National Hamburger Day.

Looking ahead to next week, I am eagerly anticipating hearing updates from potential new businesses in our area. Thank you for your continued support of the A-J and for reading our articles.
