From Controversy to comeback: Pittsburgh Steelers Welcome Back Cameron Sutton for 2023 Season

Sutton returns to Steelers following release from Lions

In March, the Detroit Lions released cornerback Cameron Sutton after domestic violence allegations in Florida. Sutton, who is 29 years old, entered a pretrial diversion program in April and had his charges reduced to misdemeanor battery. Despite this incident, Sutton has been able to continue his career in football.

Sutton was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft and played for them from 2017 to 2022 before joining the Lions on a three-year, $33 million contract. Last season, he started all 17 regular-season games for the Lions and recorded an impressive 65 tackles, an interception, one forced fumble, and defended six passes. He also played in three playoff games with Detroit.

Now that Sutton has returned to the Steelers on a one-year deal, the team is excited to have him back on board. They are hoping that he can bring his experience and talent to help strengthen their defense for the upcoming season. The Steelers are looking forward to seeing him play once again in black and gold.
