From Campus to the World: The Growing Protest against Israel’s Gaza War by Students

Global Students Rally in Support of Gaza

More than 50 universities in the United States have established Palestine solidarity encampments, as students worldwide come together to protest Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza. This student movement, which started at Columbia University in New York City, has quickly spread across the globe to Europe, Australia, and Canada.

Despite facing opposition in the form of counterprotests, arrests, and suspensions, student protesters are determined to speak out against Israel’s actions in Gaza. This has sparked debates surrounding freedom of expression and the role of activism on college campuses.

Tonight, we have Harvard student and activist Mahmoud Al Thabata, University of Warwick student and activist Fraser Amos, and Sydney University student and activist Jasmine Al Rawi to discuss this important issue. They will share their perspectives on why students are taking such risks to support Gaza and why it’s crucial for them to do so.
