From Buckeye standout to NFL prospect cut: The journey of Wyatt Davis with the Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns sign former Ohio State All-American

The Cleveland Browns have recently signed former Ohio State guard, Wyatt Davis, following the release of defensive tackle Jayden Peevy. During his time at Ohio State from 2017-2020, Davis was a standout player on the offensive line and earned the title of unanimous All-American selection after the 2020 season. Despite being drafted in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings, Davis struggled to make an impact and was eventually cut after appearing in only six games during his rookie season.

In 2022, Davis had brief stints with the New Orleans Saints, the Arizona Cardinals, and the New York Giants, but did not see any game time in 2023. With the addition of Davis, the Browns now have six former Buckeyes on their team, including cornerback Denzel Ward, center Luke Wypler, offensive tackle Dawand Jones, safety Ronnie Hickman, and defensive lineman Mike Hall Jr. For more Ohio State news and updates on these players’ progress with their new team, make sure to follow us on Twitter @BuckeyesWire and like our Facebook page for ongoing coverage.

Due to missing a year and facing tough competition at guard position with recent additions to Browns roster , Wyatt will need to work hard to secure a spot on the team . As he has shown great talent during his time at Ohio State , it is possible that he could prove himself as a valuable asset to this team if given an opportunity .
