From Awareness to Action: The Black Community and Cancer Survival

Free Health Screenings Available at Black Wellness Family Expo in Arizona

The American Cancer Society has reported that the Black community in the United States has the highest death rate and shortest survival rate for most types of cancer. In response to this concerning trend, the Phoenix chapter of The Links, Incorporated is hosting its first Black Wellness Family Expo. The event aims to educate participants about various health conditions, including breast and prostate cancer awareness, kidney disease, and heart health.

At the expo, attendees will have access to free health screenings, including mammograms, as well as information and services related to healthcare. Additionally, the event will feature car seat safety checks and a complimentary lunch for each participant. This expo will take place at South Mountain Community College near 24th Street and Baseline Road. To register for the event, interested individuals can go to blackfamilywellnessexpo.org/.
