From Aute-Savoie to Germany: Anti-Terror Authorities Thwart ISIS Attacks before they happen

ISIS operatives apprehended in Europe: a significant setback for the organization

In France, anti-terrorism authorities apprehended a 16-year-old boy who confessed to wanting to carry out a suicide attack on behalf of ISIS during the Olympic Games in Paris this summer. The boy, from the Aute-Savoie province, was taken into custody after posting on Telegram about obtaining components for an explosive belt to “die with his hand” for the Islamic Caliphate. His allegiance to ISIS was confirmed during a search of his belongings.

Moving on to Germany, prosecutors accused several individuals and businesses of providing support to ISIS through funding and weapons purchases. The prosecution brought up allegations that the defendants had gathered intelligence on various targets, attempted to purchase weapons, and sought donors to finance attacks. However, at the time of their arrest, there was no concrete plan for an attack.

The businesses listed appear to be a mix of digital marketing, hotels, training services, medical services, and more. It is unclear how this information connects to the previous paragraphs about the prosecution and the arrest in France.
