On Tuesday, the Hampden Charter School of Science East girls’ tennis team emerged victorious over Frontier, despite losing two of the final three matches. The team secured a hard-fought five-set victory, with standout performances from Iyanla Lewis, Tiffany Munga, and the second doubles team of Esther Ehle and Kayla Fagan.

Lewis started the match with a quick two-set win against Hashini Ratnatunge, giving the home team an early advantage. Munga followed suit with a victory over Isabella Sibley. This victory marked only the fourth set they have lost all season, maintaining their undefeated record at 5-0.

As they continue their journey towards becoming state champions, Hampden Charter School of Science East will take their momentum on the road against Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School. Meanwhile, Frontier will aim to turn things around in their upcoming match against Greenfield.
