Freeland and Vassar Dominate Doubleheaders in Baseball and Softball with Exceptional Performance

Freeland and Vassar had successful days in their respective baseball and softball doubleheaders. In baseball, Freeland swept Bullock Creek with a one-hitter by Daniel Duley in the first game and a win in the second game thanks to Jake Metiva’s three hits. Meanwhile, Chesaning won both games against Corunna with Ava Devereaux leading the offense with three hits and two stolen bases.

In softball, Vassar split its doubleheader with Mayville, winning the second game 6-1 thanks to Trevor Gleeson’s shutout pitching. Lesko had three hits and three RBIs in the first game for the Vulcans. Meanwhile, Chesaning also won both games of a doubleheader against Corunna with Izzy Popilek pitching a no-hitter through four innings in the second game. Jones and Conklin each had two hits for Chesaning.

Vassar’s softball team also had a successful day against Genesee, winning both games of a doubleheader thanks to Fessler’s two doubles leading the offense. Hoerlein pitched a no-hitter in the first game with four strikeouts and earned another win in the second game with seven strikeouts.
