Fort Stevenson State Park Sets World S’mores Record in North Dakota

Fort Stevenson State Park Sets New World Record for Largest S’mores Display

Fort Stevenson State Park in Garrison recently made history by breaking a world record. On a special occasion celebrating the park’s 50th anniversary, 1,150 people gathered to make s’mores simultaneously, surpassing the previous record of 891 people set in Grapevine, Texas in July 2023. The event was led by Park Manager Chad Trautman who expressed his excitement and gratitude for the community’s participation in achieving this feat.

Trautman acknowledged the support of the people of North Dakota in making this achievement possible and thanked all the volunteers and visitors who contributed to the success of the event. The celebration of the park’s 50th anniversary was made even more memorable with this record-breaking accomplishment. An official judge from Guinness World Records was present at the event to verify the record, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the achievement. While Guinness has not yet responded to a request for confirmation, Trautman is confident that they will recognize this accomplishment as a world record.

The Texas record still stands on Guinness’ website but Fort Stevenson State Park remains proud of their achievement and it serves as a testament to the spirit of community and celebration at the park.
