However, it’s not all good news for Hamilton. On Tuesday, it was reported by Bild newspaper that teenage driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli will be taking over for seven-time Formula One world champion Hamilton at Mercedes in 2025. The 17-year-old driver has reached an agreement with the German team and will replace Hamilton, who is moving to Ferrari next season. This move has caused shockwaves throughout the F1 world.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has confirmed that they have yet to make a decision about their lineup for next year, ruling out current Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz. However, Wolff praised Sainz’s performance and indicated that they are looking to reinvent themselves in the future and see a role for Kimi Antonelli in their plans.

Antonelli is currently competing in Formula 2 and is part of Mercedes’ junior academy. He has also had the opportunity to test old Mercedes cars, showcasing his potential as a future F1 driver. Hamilton believes that Antonelli would be a good successor and mentioned in a previous statement that if he were in charge, he would likely choose Kimi for the role.
