In May, Trump and his supporters collected almost $300 million in donations

In May, the campaign of former US President Donald Trump had a successful fundraising month, raising $141 million. To add to that, groups of supporters raised another $150 million, bringing the total close to $300 million, making it the best fundraising month of the year.

On Monday, the campaign reported that over 2 million donors directly contributed to the team with an average donation of $70.27 each. Of these donors, half a million were new to the cause and had never participated before. In just 24 hours after Trump was found guilty by a jury in New York, the campaign raised $53 million with an average donation rate of $2 million per hour.

Consultants to the former Trump campaign Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles stated that Americans remember the successes of Trump’s presidency including a strong economy, secure borders and peace both at home and abroad. They acknowledged that last Thursday’s verdict in New York outraged Americans of all colors but emphasized that the real verdict will come on November 5th where Trump is currently leading despite his legal troubles.
