Former President Trump’s Attorney Announces Appeal of Guilty Verdicts in Hush Money Trial”.

Trump will address the public at 11 a.m. following conviction on 34 criminal charges

Attorney Todd Blanche, who represented former President Trump in the hush money trial, announced plans to appeal the guilty verdicts handed down by the jury. In an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, Blanche expressed his intention to file an appeal as soon as possible once pending court issues with Judge Juan Merchan are resolved.

Blanche praised the jury for their hard work and attentiveness but stated that the defense faced challenges in securing a fair trial due to every juror’s familiarity with Trump. When asked about the decision not to have Trump testify in his own defense, Blanche noted that it was ultimately the former president’s choice. He added that he did not believe Trump’s decision to not testify led to the guilty verdicts.

Regarding the possibility of Trump receiving a prison sentence, Blanche adamantly stated that someone like President Trump should not face jail time. He emphasized his commitment to continue working on Trump’s legal team for other criminal cases in which the former president is involved.
