Former Packers O-Line Coach Larry Beightol Dies at 81: Coached Four Hall of Famers During His Time in Green Bay

Retired NFL Offensive Line Coach Larry Beightol passes away at the age of 81

Larry Beightol, a former Green Bay Packers offensive line coach, passed away on Thursday in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 81. The cause of death was heart failure, dementia, and complications from diabetes. Beightol served as the Packers’ offensive line coach from 1999 to 2005 and coached four players who later entered the Packers Hall of Fame: center Frank Winters, guard Marco Rivera, and tackles Chad Clifton and Mark Tauscher.

Born in Pittsburgh and raised in North Carolina, Beightol played college football at Catawba College before beginning his coaching career at William & Mary College. He briefly served as head coach at Louisiana Tech in 1979 before spending most of his coaching career working as an offensive line coach for eight different NFL teams.
