Marvin Upshaw, a former NFL player who had a nine-year career with the Browns, Chiefs, and Cardinals, passed away at the age of 77. He was born and raised in Robstown, Texas along with his older brother, Hall of Famer Gene Upshaw.
Marvin played defensive end at Trinity University and was selected in the first round of the 1968 NFL draft by the Browns. After two years in Cleveland, he was traded to Kansas City where he became a key contributor. During his time in Kansas City, Marvin started all 14 games for four consecutive years from 1971 to 1974.
In 1976, Marvin finished his NFL career with the St. Louis Cardinals before retiring from professional football. Despite his short career length, Marvin made a lasting impact on the teams he played for and will be remembered for his dedication to the game of football.
