Former NFL player James Washington: I’m Back and Ready to Prove My Worth

James Washington, a free agent wide receiver, is attempting a comeback.

James Washington, a former NFL player who has been out of action for the past two seasons, is looking to make a comeback. Despite being cut by both the Saints and the Colts in August, Washington has announced his intent to return to the league. In an Instagram video, he expressed his determination to prove that he still has what it takes to compete at a high level.

Washington mentioned that some people have doubted his abilities, calling him washed up. However, he believes he still has a lot to offer both physically and mentally. He trains diligently five days a week and spends the other two days thinking about his training.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Washington has received interest from multiple teams as he looks to make a return to the NFL. His last stint with the Cowboys ended abruptly due to injuries, with him fracturing his right foot during training camp and requiring surgery to repair a Jones fracture. Since then, Washington has not caught a pass in a game.

Despite facing setbacks from injuries, Washington remains optimistic about his future in the league. He emphasized that it’s not about how you handle injuries but how you come back from them. As a former second-round pick of the Steelers in 2018, Washington has accumulated 114 receptions for 1,629 yards and 11 touchdowns in his career.
