Former Nebraska baseball players face off in pitching battle in MLB

In Baltimore on Wednesday night, two former Nebraska baseball players faced off in a thrilling pitching duel at the professional level. Cade Povich took the mound for the Orioles in his second career start, while Spencer Schwellenbach pitched for the Braves in his third career start. Both pitchers put on an impressive show, lasting 6.0 innings each.

The game ended with Baltimore coming out on top with a narrow 4-2 win over Atlanta. Povich played a pivotal role in securing the victory, throwing a total of 89 pitches with 63 strikes. He recorded six strikeouts, gave up five hits and did not allow any runs to score. On the other hand, Schwellenbach also threw 89 pitches with 62 strikes and had three strikeouts but yielded four hits and two runs while walking two batters.
