Former India Bowler Calls for Sanju Samson’s Inclusion in T20 World Cup Playing XI

World Cup Winner Calls for India Star to Be Dropped from T20 WC XI Due to Lack of Bowling Opportunities from Shivam Dube

Sanju Samson, an accomplished wicket-keeper batsman, should be included in India’s playing XI for the 2024 T20 World Cup according to former India fast bowler Sreesanth. Sreesanth believes that Samson should be utilized as a pure batsman instead of Shivam Dube without replacing first-choice wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant. According to Sreesanth, if Dube is not bowling, India should pick a better batsman in Samson.

Sreesanth highlights Samson’s fielding abilities and sees him as an asset to the team. He also emphasizes that Samson is hungry for an opportunity and can contribute significantly to the team. Despite usually batting at number three in the IPL, Sreesanth recommends Samson be utilized as a finisher in the T20 World Cup matches.

Sreesanth, who has won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 Cricket World Cup, sees great potential in Samson playing a crucial role in achieving high scores and chasing targets if required. He points out Dube’s previous performances and the need for India to strengthen their batting lineup for optimal performance in the upcoming matches. During the T20 World Cup, Dube played a vital role in India’s victory against the USA while Samson had a successful IPL season before the tournament finishing as fifth-highest run scorer with 531 runs for Rajasthan Royals.
