Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, a former Georgia Bulldogs basketball star, has signed a three-year, $66 million contract with the Orlando Magic. Most recently, he played for the Denver Nuggets during the 2023-2024 NBA season, where the team was eliminated in the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Caldwell-Pope brings valuable championship experience to the Magic as he has won the NBA Finals twice in his career with the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Magic, with a young core, are aiming to make a deeper run in the NBA postseason after being ousted in the first round of the 2024 playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
During his time with the Nuggets, Caldwell-Pope averaged 10.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He also shot an impressive 40.6% from three-point range, providing much-needed outside shooting for the Magic.
