Former Footballer Tom Huddlestone Embarks on Coaching Career with Wigan Athletic, Joined by Pakistan Under-20s Head Coach Shadab Iftikhar

Huddlestone becomes a coach at Wigan

Tom Huddlestone, a former professional footballer, had an impressive playing career that spanned over a decade. During his time on the pitch, he represented several top clubs including Derby, Tottenham, Wolves, and Hull City. Throughout his career, Huddlestone made 470 appearances in the Premier League and Championship, winning the League Cup with Tottenham in 2008 and reaching the FA Cup final with Hull City in 2014. He also earned four caps for the England national team between 2009 and 2012.

After retiring from professional football in 2022, Huddlestone transitioned into coaching. He began as a player-coach with Manchester United’s under-21 side before joining Wigan Athletic as a first-team coach. Huddlestone expressed his excitement about this new opportunity and his long-term ambition to pursue coaching.

Wigan Athletic manager Shaun Maloney has also welcomed Pakistan Under-20s head coach Shadab Iftikhar to the club’s coaching staff. With their combined experience and expertise, Huddlestone and Iftikhar will work alongside Maloney to support the team and help them reach their full potential on the pitch.
