Former FAU standouts LaJohntay Wester and Jaylen Wester set to join Colorado football team, bringing valuable skill and experience

Jaylen Wester of Colorado ranked as one of the top returning Big 12 linebackers in terms of grading.

LaJohntay and Jaylen Wester, two former Florida Atlantic standouts, are set to join the Colorado football team as intriguing transfer portal players. LaJohntay, a wide receiver, showcased his skills during the Buffs’ spring game, while Jaylen brings talent to the linebackers room.

According to Pro Football Focus College, Jaylen Wester arrives in Boulder as the second-highest-graded returning linebacker in the Big 12 Conference. With an overall grade of 84.5, he is only behind Iowa State’s Caleb Bacon, who scored 89.3. The only other linebacker in the Big 12 with a grade above 80 was UCF’s Xe’ree Alexander at 84.1.

During his freshman campaign in 2022, Jaylen had 58 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and an interception. He played in 11 games with five starts at FAU last season and accumulated 55 total tackles, including seven tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble and two pass breakups. His experience and skill will be valuable assets to the Colorado football team.

LaJohntay Wester received a PFF grade of 82.1 last season, making him the fourth-highest-graded returning Big 12 wide receiver. With his impressive skills on display during the Buffs’ spring game and his valuable experience on the field, he will undoubtedly be an asset to Colorado football team as well
