The 58-year-old Hall of Fame receiver disclosed that his wife, who is also 58, has been battling early-onset Alzheimer’s for the past “5 or 6 years.”

Michael Irvin shared that they have a live-in caretaker because Sandy requires full-time assistance. She is experiencing difficulties with walking and talking, requiring around-the-clock support. Despite the challenges, Irvin vowed to honor his wife’s wishes to remain in their home.

The couple, who has been married since 1990, has faced this difficult journey together. Michael Irvin was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007 after an illustrious career as a Dallas Cowboys wide receiver.
