Taulia Tagovailoa recently tried out for a couple of NFL teams, but his next professional football opportunity will be with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in a different league. The Tiger-Cats announced on Monday that they have signed Tagovailoa to their practice roster.
After leaving Maryland as the Big Ten’s all-time leader in passing yards and completion percentage, Tagovailoa went undrafted. However, he holds the school record for passing touchdowns and is tied for the school’s single-season touchdown mark with current Hamilton head coach Scott Milanovich.
Despite participating in rookie minicamps with the Seahawks and Cardinals on a tryout basis, Tagovailoa did not receive a contract with either club. Nevertheless, he now has an opportunity with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to continue his football career.
