A couple from Brandenburg was found to have forgotten about their young children while attending the Immergut music festival in Neustrelitz. The police announced that a passerby discovered the two children locked inside a car in a parking lot during the early hours of Saturday morning, causing the children to cry and scream in distress. The fire department was called to break open the car windows and free the children, who were then given medical treatment and sedated at the scene.
The exact age of the children was not disclosed, but it is believed that they were around five years old. The father, aged 60, was located at the event during the night and brought to his children. However, it is unclear why he left his wife behind without taking their children with him.
The incident has sparked an investigation by the police for neglect of duty of care and upbringing. It is reported that the man was not under any influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident. The organizer of the festival has also excluded him from future events and informed youth welfare office about this matter.
