Nottingham Forest mourns the loss of former player Jeff Whitefoot, who passed away at the age of 90. Whitefoot was a key member of the Reds team that won the FA Cup in 1959, securing his place in Forest history.
Whitefoot began his career at Manchester United, where he became the youngest player to start in a league match for the club at just 16 years and 105 days old. After spending eight years with the ‘Busby Babes’ at Old Trafford, he moved to Grimsby Town before joining Nottingham Forest in 1966.
During his time with Forest, Whitefoot played 285 games under the management of Billy Walker, Andy Beattie, and Johnny Carey. His greatest achievement with the team came during his first season when they won the FA Cup for the second time by defeating Luton Town at Wembley.
The club expressed deep sadness at Whitefoot’s passing and offered their condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him. He will be remembered as a beloved figure in Nottinghamshire and beyond.
