Football and Basketball Stars Mike Hart and Greg Paulus to be Inducted into New York High School Athletic Hall of Fame

Honoring Two High School Sports Legends from Central New York with Hall of Fame Induction

The New York State High School Athletic Association has announced the Class of 2024 for its Hall of Fame, and two of Section III’s greatest athletes, Mike Hart and Greg Paulus, have been selected. The induction ceremony will take place on July 31 at The Hyatt Long Island East End in Riverhead.

Mike Hart, from Onondaga, had an incredible football career, leading his teams to three state championships and a remarkable 46-1 record from 2000-2003. During this time, he set numerous records such as most yards in a season, most yards in a career, most 100-yard rushing games, most touchdowns in a season, and most touchdowns in a career. Hart continued his success at the collegiate level, playing for Michigan where he set a school record in rushing yards and touchdowns. He was then drafted by the Indianapolis Colts and played in the NFL for three seasons.

Greg Paulus, from Christian Brothers Academy, excelled in both football and basketball. He led CBA to its first state football title and set state records for most touchdowns and yards in a career and season. In basketball, Paulus accumulated over 2,000 career points and won New York State Mr. Basketball. He went on to play basketball at Duke University on a full scholarship, earning accolades such as ranking top ten for career assists
