Food Market Players Agree to Keep Profitability Data Private for Fair Pricing System

The food market importers and producers have decided to withdraw their claim against the Ministry of Economy to the Supreme Court. They have agreed to transfer profitability data on their products to the price inspector at the ministry. However, this information will be considered a trade secret and will not be made public. Instead, it will be used by the inspector to identify excessive profitability in specific market segments as part of his duties.

The Ministry of Economy needs to define excessive profitability before any action can be taken. Once this definition is established, the ministry will work with the inter-ministerial price commission and the Ministry of Finance to determine which goods should be subject to state pricing control. This collaborative effort aims to create a fair and transparent pricing system within the food market.

By sharing data on profitability and working together, importers and producers are taking steps towards ensuring a level playing field in the industry. The Ministry of Economy’s decision is an important step towards establishing a fair pricing system that benefits all stakeholders in the food market.
