Food Establishments Shutdown in Orange County for Infestations and Operational Issues: A Weekly Update from the Health Care Agency

The Orange County Health Care Agency has ordered several restaurants and food vendors to shut down temporarily. These closures were due to a variety of reasons such as cockroach or rodent infestations. Some establishments did not provide a reason for their closure.

One such establishment that faced a closure was the Mobil station on 11962 Brookhurst St., Garden Grove, which was closed on June 26 due to a cockroach infestation but reopened the next day. Similarly, Bagels Tea in Huntington Beach and Layer Cake Bakery in Irvine also faced closures but were able to reopen on the same day.

Other closures included Cho Cu Bakery in Westminster, Green Tomato Grill in Orange, and Chada Thai in Garden Grove, all due to cockroach infestations. Lam Van in Westminster and Luc Dinh Ky Restaurant in Westminster were also closed for the same reason but were able to reopen a few days later.

In addition to infestations, closures were also due to issues such as employee restrooms being inoperable, as seen in the case of 7-Eleven in Garden Grove. The list of closures is published weekly by the OC Health Care Agency, with status updates provided in the following week’s list. This information is sourced from the OC Health Care Agency database.
