FMCSA recently announced the continuation of its TechCelerate Now program through a second contract. The goal of this program is to accelerate the adoption of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) in order to prevent accidents and save lives. ADAS technologies such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warnings, and onboard camera systems have the potential to improve highway safety and increase the efficiency of trucking operations. While some motor carriers have already embraced these technologies, the industry as a whole must consider investing in them.

What is the current perception of ADAS systems among fleet operators and drivers? How will the TechCelerate Now program work to increase awareness and acceptance of these technologies? Jeff Loftus, chief of FMCSA’s advanced technology division, will be joining TT’s Seth Clevenger to discuss these topics and provide updates on phase 2 of the TechCelerate Now initiative.
