International Sports Press Association Recognizes FloSports on a Global Scale

This week, FloSports, a renowned global sports media company based in Austin, Texas, received recognition for their outstanding work in the Video Athlete Profile category at the annual AIPS Sports Media Awards. Their exceptional achievements were among over 1,800 submissions from 141 countries across 11 categories. The competition underwent several review stages before selecting the top three finalists, including the feature ‘Bob Beamon: The Legacy’ beyond The Leap as one of the top three in the Video Athlete Profile category.

The feature explores the intersection of the Civil rights movement with Bob Beamon’s historic long jump record at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, highlighting his lasting impact on sports and society. It was released during Black History Month in 2023 and was prominently featured on the FloTrack and MileSplit channels.

FloSports has been consistently recognized for their excellence in Video Athlete Profile over the past two years, with previous accolades for features such as ‘Allie Ostrander: Under Pressure, Gaining Your Life Back’ and ‘Caitlin Little: Fifteen Forever.’ As winners of each category in the AIPS Sports Media Awards receive prize money, FloSports took home $8,000 for their overall win in Video Athlete Profile. They also received acknowledgments for two other categories during this year’s awards ceremony.

In addition to their recognition for Video Athlete Profile, FloSports was acknowledged for Best Colour Piece with ‘Noor’s Pursuit: A Young Muslim Woman’s Fight For Equality,’ a longform feature story on MileSplit. They were also recognized for Video Documentary with ‘San Elizario: Una Forma De Vida,’ a longform feature documentary on MileSplit.
