Rebeca Andrade to Make Debut at 2024 FIG World Challenge Cup in Antalya, Turkey

Rebeca Andrade, Brazil’s most decorated gymnast ever, will make her Olympic season debut at the World Challenge Cup in Antalya, Turkey on Friday (29 March). The 24-year-old is expected to be one of the standout performers in the artistic gymnastics competition as she prepares for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Andrade has had an impressive career so far, with numerous accomplishments under her belt. In 2021, she made history by winning vault gold and all-around silver at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. She followed up with a gold in the 2022 World all-around competition and a five-medal haul at the 2023 Worlds.

Joining Andrade in Antalya will be other gymnastics stars such as Sanne Wevers of the Netherlands, who won balance beam gold at the 2016 Olympics; Melanie de Jesus dos Santos of France, who won bronze on uneven bars at the World Championships in 2019; and Kaylia Nemour of Algeria, who won silver on uneven bars at the World Championships in 2019. Andrade’s Brazilian teammates Flavia Saraiva, Lorrane Oliveira, and Jade Barbosa will also be competing.

In the women’s field, eight-time Olympian Oksana Chusovitina will be competing on all four apparatus as she prepares for her final opportunity to qualify for the Paris Olympic Games. On the men’s side, Olympic parallel bars bronze medallist Ferhat Arican will be competing alongside his teammates Ibrahim Colak and Adem Asil.
