Final Chance for Olympic Qualification: Adrian Paoletti’s Fight in the Bangkok Meet

Guide to watching the 2024 World Olympic Boxing Qualification Tournament live in Australia

The Bangkok meet is the final opportunity for boxers to secure an Olympics quota in all 13 weight categories, with each country limited to one quota per category. In preparation for this tournament, Adrian Paoletti has been training in Thailand under national boxing coach Marcos Amado.

Paoletti’s goal is to obtain a quota for Australia in the men’s 92kg weight division at the second and final World Boxing Qualification Tournament, which will take place at the Hua Mark Indoor Stadium starting on Friday. The tournament will offer quotas in all 13 weight categories.

Australia had previously obtained 12 quotas at the Pacific Games in Honiara last year, leading to the selection of a 12-member Australian boxing team for the Paris Olympics. However, Paoletti was unable to secure a quota in the first qualification tournament held in Italy.

The men’s 92kg division will have four quotas up for grabs at the Bangkok meet, making it an important competition for Paoletti’s chances of qualifying for the Olympics. The qualification period ends on May 31st, so this tournament marks the final opportunity for boxers to secure their spot at the upcoming games.
