Italian sports car maker Ferrari and electric vehicle battery maker SK On, affiliated with SK Group, have joined forces to enhance innovation in battery cell technology. The partnership was announced during a memorandum of understanding ceremony at SK’s headquarters building in Seoul, with both companies expressing excitement about the potential for shared progress through their combined expertise and technologies.
Ferrari’s CEO Benedetto Vigna expressed high expectations for the collaboration, noting that shared ideas between companies and suppliers can drive advancements in battery cell technology. As an exclusive battery supplier to Ferrari since 2019, SK On has been providing battery cells for models like the SF90 Stradale and SF90 Spider. This partnership represents a significant step forward in advancing battery cell technology for electric vehicles.
SK On CEO Lee Seok-hee emphasized the potential for offering customers new experiences and values through their combined expertise and technologies. He expressed excitement about joining Ferrari’s electrification journey and exploring new avenues for advancing battery cell technology.
