FDA Regulation under Scrutiny: A Check-Up with Congressional Hearing

Rodgers and Guthrie Chair Health Subcommittee Meeting featuring FDA Center Directors

Subcommittee on Health Chair Brett Guthrie (R-KY) and House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) have announced a hearing titled “Check Up: Examining FDA Regulation of Drugs, Biologics, and Devices.” The purpose of the hearing is to emphasize the importance of the FDA in guiding safe and effective treatments and medical devices while ensuring transparency to rebuild public trust in government health agencies.

The hearing will take place on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 10:30 AM ET at 2322 Rayburn House Office Building. Dr. Patrizia Cavazzoni from the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), Dr. Peter Marks from the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER), and Dr. Jeffrey Shuren from the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) at the Food and Drug Administration will be among the witnesses present.
