Family-Owned Richardson Industries of Sheboygan Falls Celebrates 175th Anniversary and State Recognition

Richardson Industries Recognized as State’s Longest-Running Family-Owned Company

Richardson Industries of Sheboygan Falls recently celebrated their 175th year of operation, making them the oldest family-owned business in the state of Wisconsin. The company was established in 1848, the same year that Wisconsin became the 30th state in the union. At that time, lumbering, mining, and land sales were the main sources of wealth in the state, driven by the population’s need for homes and businesses.

While mining and land sales eventually gave way to agriculture as the dominant industries, lumber remained a key building material until the development of steel and other modern materials. Despite these changes in the economy, Richardson Industries maintained their reputation for providing high-quality products and exceptional service, setting them apart from other businesses in the state.

The company’s long-standing success was recognized with a legislative citation and a Wisconsin State Flag from Representative Terry Katsma. This milestone anniversary marks a significant achievement for Richardson Industries, showcasing their resilience and commitment to excellence over the years.
