Falcons set to ink deal with offensive tackle Jaryd Jones-Smith

The Falcons have signed free agent offensive lineman Jaryd Jones-Smith, who was recently named to the All-UFL team after playing with the St. Louis Battlehawks in the UFL this spring. Jones-Smith also had previous experience playing for the Battlehawks in the XFL.

Jones-Smith began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent from the University of Pittsburgh in 2018 when he signed with the Texans. Since then, he has had stints with several other teams including the Dolphins, 49ers, Ravens, Raiders, and Commanders. Over his career, Jones-Smith has played in six NFL games, three with the Raiders in 2020 and three with the Ravens in 2021.

The Falcons are bringing him in to provide depth at tackle behind current players Jake Matthews, Kaleb McGary, and Storm Norton. In terms of playing time, Jones-Smith has been on the field for two offensive snaps and 27 on special teams during the regular season.
