Falcons release defensive tackle Eddie Goldman, expected to sign new deal and reunite with the team

Eddie Goldman set to make a comeback with the Falcons

The Falcons have released defensive tackle Eddie Goldman from their reserve/left squad list, but it appears that another transaction involving the team and player is on the horizon. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Goldman is expected to sign a new deal with the team.

Goldman initially signed with the Falcons in July 2022, but he retired shortly after. However, he returned to the active roster last March before leaving once again in July without ever playing a game for them. Despite his recent absence from the field, Goldman’s skill and potential are evident.

The upcoming new deal signifies a fresh start for Goldman with the team, and fans will be eager to see how he performs in the upcoming season. Throughout his career, Goldman has amassed 175 tackles, 13 sacks, and two fumble recoveries. His most recent on-field action was during the 2021 season with the Bears, where he appeared in 14 games and recorded 22 tackles and a half-sack. He chose to opt out of the 2020 season due to COVID, meaning those appearances are his only recent playing time.
